After a year when I started this project I found out that such idea was already used and almost exhausted by Erwin Blumenfeld almost 70 years ago. Though we (if I can compare myself to such artist as Erwin Blumenfeld, hehe...) went in somewhat different directions.

syntetic material that I was given years ago and told that it's used to sew sails. It's hard to avoid moire effect though, some more delicate material or more natural could be better.
In this case two 580 EX II flashguns were used. One behind the model to lighten up the material (with reflector) one shot from camera to the right (bounced off the reflector) - see the shadows.
as for camera settings - probably shot this on 200 or 100 ISO, with max 1/125 s and around f4 or f5.6 max on 17-40 f4 L with eos 5d.

Hehehe, if I stop seein' my work stripped from watermarks and packed tightly on rapidshare in many versions, then maybe I'll cease to watermark like mad. :3
